For a very long time now, I dreamed that the blind community of Hawaii and the whole world will come together in UNITY without being governed, controlled and directed by so much self interest of the very same few, year after year. Do they truly work for the civil rights and the interests of the deaf and blind? I must be more than legally blind, because I have not seen it yet. We learned how to fold our currency, why do they work for new unnecessary Braille currency to further more hate crimes against the blind? Why must our blind vendors make so much money and pay their blind helpers only minimum wages? Why must we blindfold the legally blind to teach them computers without the knowledge upon graduation? 90% of all legally blind will always see a little something until they die and most of us can hear. Most of the deaf can see. Please give us free high- speed Internet access and we will learn and communicate. Zoom Text and Jaws and other programs will read aloud for the blind and enlarge for the deaf. Computers will give us job opportunity. Braille and American Sign Language will isolate us to the very few 10% that have proudly learned it. Thereafter the deaf will ignore the majority of newly deaf and most hard of hearing elderly. The Braillers will stick to the very small group of Braille trained. Computers have changed the world! Digital down streaming is coming to Movie Theaters and School Campuses. We can’t stop progress. High- speed WIFI is free at many locations but we, the home bound handicapped, need it at home! Video Relay Services brag about their free cameras that require expensive high- speed Internet connections. They also forget to tell you that the FCC and PUBLIC subsidizes VRS with about $7.- for EACH AND EVERY MINUTE. JUST THINK, a short 6- MINUTE VRS CALL Will PAY FOR MORE THAN ONE WHOLE MONTH OF HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION AND SERVES ALL CAPABLE AND INTERESTED deaf and blind, NOT ONLY THE MINORITY OF 10%. We would have less expensive home schooling and prepare to become useful taxpayers with computer jobs. Introduce Accountability and strict Accounting for all the Agencies and Do-gooders who do so well for themselves only. Introduce big penalties for MISUSE OF FOUNDATION AND AGENCY FUNDS.
